Two specialist therapies, one joined-up approach
Our sports and neuromuscular service brings together two complementary disciplines. Depending on your needs, your therapist may draw on one or both within the same session.
Neuromuscular physical therapy
Focused on optimising how your nervous system and muscles work together. Particularly effective for those dealing with neurological or musculoskeletal challenges, it helps restore physical function, reduce pain, and improve quality of life.
Sports massage
A targeted, therapeutic massage that goes beyond general relaxation. It focuses on specific muscle groups to treat existing issues, reduce injury risk, and support faster recovery after training or competition.
Posture assessment
Why posture matters more than you think
Poor posture is one of the most common and overlooked contributors to chronic pain, fatigue, and recurring injury. A thorough posture assessment looks at the alignment of your spine, joints, and muscles from the front, back, and side to identify imbalances that may be contributing to your symptoms.
We assess how your body aligns when sitting, standing, and moving. Common findings include rounded shoulders, forward head posture, and uneven load distribution through the hips and knees. These patterns often go unnoticed until they start causing real problems.
Correcting posture isn't just about standing up straight. It requires a combination of flexibility work, motor control, and body awareness, all of which we address through your personalised plan.
Your treatment plan
Every client leaves with a plan built around their specific findings. This typically combines several of the following approaches.
Stretching overactive muscles
Lengthening tight muscles that are pulling your body out of alignment and contributing to pain or restricted movement.
Strengthening underactive muscles
Activating weak or neglected muscles to restore balance and reduce the strain placed on surrounding structures.
Ergonomic adjustments
Practical guidance on your workspace, car setup, and daily habits to reduce the cumulative strain that builds up over time.
Taping and strapping
Sports taping and strapping techniques are used to support joints, manage load on injured tissues, reduce swelling, and speed up return to sport. We commonly use kinesiology tape, which moves with your skin rather than restricting it. It lifts the skin gently to improve circulation, provides subtle sensory feedback, and assists muscle function without limiting your movement.
